Mr Georgios Bairaktaris is a postgraduate researcher in his 1st year of study for his PhD in user interfaces at the Advanced Technology Institute of the University of Surrey.He received his BEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, during which he completed a placement year at the Research and Development department of Johnson Controls. He has also been in product development for a local drone manufacturer, Evolve Dynamics. In 2019, he completed short courses on entrepreneurship, business strategy and consulting at Imperial College Business School.In University of Surrey, he has been working on the Next Generation Paper project since 2018 as part of his dissertation, progressing the control electronics and the user interfacing in collaboration with Novacentrix. Currently, he is using printed electronics and emerging techniques for creating novel, intuitive, and flexible user interfaces. Other active projects he is involved, include an augmented board game for psychological development of young people in families and applications for compact SGT circuits.
